I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy. They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added’. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe it would be best if I compared the Minute Maid pulp bits with REAL orange pulp bits. Guess what? I wasn't able to tell the difference at all. To top it all off, I tried making juice out of the REAL orange and compared it to Minute Made Pulpy. They both taste great and I never thought that someone would ever be able to put REAL orange in a bottle, minus the effort. All you have to do is to twist the cap off and enjoy the rest.

I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it’s got no preservatives added. So I read the ingredients (even the fine print) and everything checked out! It really has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED! That means it doesn’t have ingredients that may turn out to be allergens, or

worse...carcinogens! Whew! Now that’s healthy goodness that tastes so good, I can confidently share it with all of my friends, even to those with serious case of allergic reactions (you know who you are) to some type of food. At least I won't have to live with guilt anymore each time I share something to them because I can be sure that Minute Maid Pulpy won't do them any harm at all.

So okay, it’s got no preservatives added. That’s really good, right? Not just because it doesn’t have those icky, harmful ingredients, but it also means we can drink it anytime and anywhere we want to without having to worry about getting an allergic reaction of some sort.

So for anyone who still has a hard time believing that Minute Maid has got no preservatives

added - meaning it's THAT natural, it's almost like it's plucked straight from the tree, it's just as Mother Nature wanted your orange juice to be, it's got nothing but the good stuff. Before my friend and I went to Hong Kong for our first ever out-of-the-country vacation, I have been reading different reviews and comments in other forum discussion websites on the internet just to make sure that we won't arrive there dumbfounded. Nag-ipon pa naman ako ng sweldo ko para lang masiguro na hindi ako magugutom at manlilimos pauwi. Syempre, konting pang-shopping at pang-gala sa Disneyland, sa Ocean Park at pati na rin sa Macau. Sayang naman ang bagong passport ko kung mabubulok na naman na walang katatak-tatak katulad nung green na ni-renew ko.

Anyway, sa mga nabasa ko nung mga huling linggo bago kami lumipad papuntang Hong Kong, I read some information that says we should not keep our guards down when some fellow Filipinos approach us and offer help kasi most of the time daw, rocketeers daw yung mga yun doon, lalo na sa Macau. The first thing na pumasok sa isip ko, ang sama naman nila kung pagsasamantalahan pa nila ang kapwa pinoy nila sa ibang bansa kung kailan mas nangangailangan ng tulong ng mga kababayan nila sa ibang bansa. Sabi ko pa sa sarili ko, bakit hindi nalang yung ibang lahi ang pag-tripan nilang pagkakitaan, di' ba? Hahaha!!!!

So all this time na nandito kami sa Hong Kong, I have been trying to stay away from my fellow Filipinos just to make sure that they won't have any chance of fooling us to their trap. As much as possible, mas pinipili pa namin ng friend ko na magtanong sa mga Hongkies or mga Hong Kong nationals na hirap na hirap mag-English and vice versa. Halos bumula na ang bibig namin kaka-describe ng bawat salita na sinusubukan naming itanong para lang maintindihan nila ang tanong namin. Kulang nalang, mag-charade kami sa tabing kalye na kung saan ang lalakas mang-balya ng mga taong nagmamadali. Hindi sila halos marunong mag- sorry na parang sanay na sila sa bungguan at balyahan. Nakaka-miss tuloy ang Pilipinas. Namimiss ko ang mga sari-sari store na pwedeng bumili ng tingi. Dito kasi, wala pa akong nakikitang tingi kung magtinda. Meron man, hindi naman kailangan. I have also come to appreciate the convenience of pandesal in the morning. Here in Hong Kong, we usually go to some fastfood that serve breakfast, kaso nakasawa na. Matigas din ang donut nila sa mga convenience store dito. Cake rings ang tawag, e parang lumang tinapay lang sa tigas.

Of all these complaints, I have proven one thing. Masarap pa ring maging Pinoy at mas masarap pa ring manirahan sa Pilipinas kahit halos isuka na tayo ng lipunan.

Actually, gusto ko na sanang maniwala na halang ang kaluluwa ng karamihan sa mga kababayan natin na nandito sa Hong Kong at sa Macau... pero bakit ganun? Isang Pinay na yaya ang tumulong sa amin sa loob ng MTR Central Station kung saan kami halos maligaw sa sobrang lawak ng interchange papunta sa Sunny Bay Station. Bitbit pa niya ang dalawang batang Chinese na alaga niya galing sa school at nang marinig niya siguro na nagtatalo na kami ng kasama ko kung saan dapat dumaan, sumabat na siya at tinuro ang tamang daan. "Nag-tagalog siya!!!!", sabi ko sa isip ko.

Nung nasa Macau kami kahapon, mas maraming kababayan natin ang sumaklolo sa amin dahil nawala na naman kami papunta sa mga dapat puntahan. Sa Macau Ferry Terminal pa lang, may mga Pinoy na nagturo sa amin kung saan ang mga libreng bus papunta sa mga Hotel na may Casino. Sa Casino naman, may Pinay din na nagturo sa amin kung saan at papaano makakakuha ng libreng membership. Sa may harap ng unang Hotel, Pinoy din ang nagturo sa amin kung saan dapat sumakay ng libreng bus papunta sa susunod na Hotel kung saan may isa pang Casino. Sa pangalawang Hotel naman, dalawang Pinoy na Gondolier ang nakipag-kwentuhan sa amin habang wala pang sumasakay sa Gondola nila. Maya-maya, may dalawa pang Pinoy na Clown na lumapit sa amin. Ang ending, kodakan, syempre!!!

Sa lahat ng mga nabanggit, wala akong naranasang panloloko ng mga kapwa Pinoy natin sa amin. In fact, sila pa ang tumulong sa amin ng walang kapalit. Dahil sa kanila, nakarating kami sa mga dapat namin puntahan. Parang masaya na sila na may nakitang kapwa Pinoy na nakausap at natulungan nila at syempre, masarap ang feeling na may marinig kang nagtatagalog ulit. Mahirap mag-charade, lalo na sa sosyal na Hotel para lang magtanong kung nasaan ang palikuran.

Para sa akin, ang pagbabago ay hindi lamang sa panahon naaayon. Ang isang maling pananaw tungo sa isang bagay ay maaari ring magkaroon ng habambuhay na magandang pagbabago. Hindi ko ito ginawa upang magpaawa, magpaiyak, magpatawa o manalo ng iPad (plastik!!!). Gusto ko lamang i-share ang naiiba at nakakapanibagong experience para sa akin tungo sa mga kapwa natin Pinoy sa ibang bansa.

Hindi lahat ng donut, malambot. Hindi lahat ng fried chicken, masarap. Hindi lahat ng Tiangge, mura. Hindi lahat ng Pinoy, masama. Minsan, kailangan lang nating maligaw para malaman ito.

Para sa lahat ng kababayan natin na nasa Hong Kong, Macau, at sa iba pang bansa na nagpapakahirap mahiwalay sa kani-kanilang pamilya upang mabigyan lamang sila ng maayos na pamumuhay, may Goldilocks Mamon kayo sa akin pag-uwi ninyo!!! Salamat!!! Hangad namin na magkaroon ng malaking pagbabago sa inyong mga pamumuhay ang mga sakripisyo ninyo sa ibang bansa.

Aug. 11, 2010 - Pasig Post Office Charged me an additional P1,209 for a package worth P5000 from the US. That was aside from the P40 that the man in white initially asked from me just a few minutes ago. It seemed to me that the man in striped shirt was looking for all possible taxation laws that he could charge to my 4-pound package. It took him at least 10 minutes flipping over different folders and paperworks with a list of taxation codes in them. He didn't seem to know what he was looking for. When I handed him over P1,209, they were all laughing inside the office as the man in stripes said " Para kay Noynoy 'to!". It was a very scary scenario. Now tell me, do you think this is the kind of people that you would want to be surrounded with? I am now considering Australia, Canada or New Zealand, seriously. It's time to get the hell out of here!

FAIL: Nuffnang and HEAVEN Ice Cream's "SALT" Promo

What crazy mind would even have the heart to send out promotional emails to its members only for them to find out that they no longer have any chance to join the contest that they were just informed about and yet, there were several others who were informed at least a couple of hours before ahead of you.

In other words, we just received a useless email that we can only drool over and nothing more. Nuffnang and HEAVEN Ice Cream have recently sent me and my friend a similar email informing us of a promo that gave us false hopes because when we went to Nuffnang's website to submit our entries, we just found out that there were LOTS of Nuffnangers who were INFORMED 2 HOURS AHEAD OF US. How crazy can that get?! (Inside job, Isdachu?!)

I am not just sour graping out of 3 movie passes because I can even buy movie passes for all my friends if I wanted to. The reason why I am venting out my concern is because this is not how contests should be played. I believe in being fair about almost everything and I know for sure that this one is NOT FAIR. I have included some screen captures of the email I got from Nuffnang this afternoon.

2 of my friends and I have been planning to go abroad in search of greener pastures. I can say that we are not as poor as I might sound but we are not as well-off as we seem to be most of the time. I would like to believe that what we have is something called breeding and class which money certainly cannot buy at all. Anyway, we heard that they are holding the annual Psychic Festival at a nearby park inside a mall and my friends are just going crazy to drag me there. I know that I was born under the sign of Capricorn and that's it. I could not really care less for the rest that comes with being a Capricorn as some people would.

So let's just say my friends won and were able to drag me to the Psychic Festival. There we saw a lot of people falling in line to have their future, or should I say to have their fortune read out to their faces. There were even local celebrities who went there to probably ask about their careers and all that. I mean, even I could predict where their careers are bringing them to and right now, I can say that it's going nowhere because they just lost their shine in the industry for some younger newbies. That is why they have to revert to displaying themselves in the public for publicity.

Clairvoyants, Tarot Card readers, Mediums and Psychics had their own tables under large, red umbrellas all over the place so you can bet that they have managed to drum up a trade at the chosen venue. I didn't really bother to participate in anything since I am the number one skeptic about all these so I just waited for my friends to get done with whatever they needed to do.

As skeptic as I may seem, I find Zodiac Fashion really chic and I can probably get used to it. The funny thing is that I still check on my daily horoscope just for fun. ]I must admit that I get worried sometimes that what I have read in my daily horoscope might just happen so there's no reason to let my guards down anyway.

So that's what happened and that's the reason why you're reading this post that I've made because of my frustration with this seller. I have only started buying stuff from eBay not so long ago and this might be a lesson learned for me to NOT TRUST STRANGERS ESPECIALLY WITH MONEY!!!!! They can come up with all sorts of excuses that your package might have been lost or stolen in the post office or some other bull. Imagine, ruining your reputation over P96 pesos. CHEAP!!!!! I wouldn't lose mine for a few millions. But then again, the reality is that we're living in a 3rd world country and anything can happen. What I can do now is to hum along with the song from the game. Everybody now... "there's a zombie on your lawn... there's a zombie on your lawn... we don't want zombies on our lawn."

The hospital is the last place on earth that i'd like to be in. I think everybody would agree with me on that for sure. But somehow, when it's a friend or someone close to our hearts who is in that place we dread the most, we manage to drag ourselves without giving it a second thought. We'd come running, literally.

LG, our friend, was diagnosed with myocarditis recently and had to be rushed to the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City. I know, right?! You'd probably be asking me what myocarditis is. Well, FYI, it is the inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). It resembles a heart attack but coronary arteries are not blocked. (Thanks to Wiki for my hair and make-up!!) You'd probably be asking me now if the poor guy is still alive. Yes, indeed and he's back to his normal life, working at night as a call center agent. I can't blame him. It's his only source of income, after all (or so I thought!). But as friends, the best thing we could do is to throw in some advice and a few extra stuff to make the advice work.

It was on January 14, 2010, exactly my 28th birthday, when we learned that LG was in the hospital. With that, we decided to bring the party to him instead. For starters, 25 pounds of cold sermon should be an excellent appetizer, followed by a bowl of "Why, When and Where" topped with a dash of life-threatening situations if he still won't take it in like a bitter pill. It's hard to swallow but it'll make things better for him.

So there. When we've said everything that needs to be said, there was only one thing left to do. Refresh. To wash everything all off with something naturally healthy. I know green, leafy vegetables are good but it takes a lot of time and effort to enjoy them. I mean the chopping, cutting, slicing and cooking part just won't work for a person who has less time to sleep in a day. That is of course, as compared to a bottle of Real Leaf Green Tea inside your bag, taking it wherever you go, whenever you need it. The best alternative, and probably the best part of it all was when we asked him to pose for the camera, holding up a bottle of Real Leaf Green Tea (which I almost forgot inside my leather bag for hours, sweating!) and a bunch of celery just to make it sillier...celery-er (get it? Hahaha!!!).

In fairness to the product, the cap was sealed tightly that it didn't spill inside my bag. If it did, well, he'd have to drink it from my cluttered bag. Aside from the tight cap (I'm so loving the cap now), the tea was still as good as how it was when we bought it. So fresh that he downed it all in a matter of seconds, enjoying every single drop of it.

Of course LG's recovery is not instant. Taking in the right food, regular exercise and enough sleep are all part of the healing process and Real Leaf Green Tea is now part of it.
I guess we can live without the fruit basket and biscuits the next time we visit someone in the hospital. A basket of Real Leaf Green Tea would be a better gift to a recuperating person. In fact, why wait until they're admitted to a hospital just to give them the gift of health when you can start sharing it now. I've always believed that prevention is so much better and so much cheaper than cure. P100,000 cheaper, actually.

Who could ever forget the typical pinoy birthday party? It ain't a party without spaghetti, pancit, sandwiches, hotdogs with marshmallows, ice cream and everybody's favorite, of course, the Birthday Cake. Being an 80's baby, I have always had Goldilocks cakes during my birthdays. There were even times when we didn't have anything but just the cake. It feels like there is no celebration without the colorful and creamy cake from Goldilocks. We can have the rest of the party food on a daily basis, but the cake makes the difference, making my party a really Happy Birthday Party. How can we not have a Goldilocks cake during birthdays? It has always been the highlight when the celebrant gets to blow the candles and gets to pick the first slice of cake before everybody else.

I can say that I have had a very memorable childhood because Goldilocks cakes have been a part of my birthday parties where we celebrate the past years that I've had and at the same time, we welcome the new ones to come. Up until now, one can never be too old to blow the candles on top of a Goldilocks cake. Be it the square ones, round ones or the rolls, as long as there are reasons to celebrate life, we will always have Goldilocks as a part of it.

For me, ", You're the 1 Goldilocks, because you make special memories last forever".

I was baking my favorite Brownie Cookies this morning when the doorbell rang. I had to leave my cookie batter for a few minutes to check who it was. To my surpirse, it was a FedEx guy carrying a large box asking for me. The first thing that came to my mind was "Is this what I think it is??!!". I immediately signed the FedEx paper and slammed the door accidentally out of excitement. My mom went out of the house but upon seeing the Fedex guy in front of our house from across the block, she went back to see what it was. She was even more excited to open the box. So there, we had a hard time opening the box that we had to tear it apart (care of my mom). Just as I was reaching for the bag inside the box, my mom was already pulling it from the other end of the box, which was why I had a hard time pulling it out of the box.

It was perfect. A Sprinkles Cinch Sack White Bag just for me. My mom said she wanted to have it. Sorry, Mom. the box says it's for me. Hehehehe!!! She was kidding, of course. As promised, i'm gonna work and strut this baby around here. I haven't heard of anyone having Pastry here in the Philippines yet so let me be the first one. At last!! Something new, care of me, here in the Philippines. I'm very proud to wear your names, Angela and Vanessa Simmons. Thanks so much!!! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!! Going ala-La Peral at Edsa Shangri-La Cafe

Lately, my bestfriend and I have been frequenting The Edsa Shangri-La Cafe right beside the world-renowned hotel which is situated, respectfully, right inside Fully Booked. I have been enjoying my visits for the past 3 weeks because of the accomodating staff they have, whether you buy a drink or just simply spend the whole afternoon surfing the internet through your mini lappy at no extra cost. Yes, my dear lambs. They have unlimited wifi and it's as fast as what Starbucks probably has to offer (I think Starbucks charges P100 or something like that for an hour of wifi). What a rip-off when wifi is supposedly free of charge (just buy a drink or two and you've got an instant excuse).

I love their iced tea (well ok, 'coz it's only P90). Every order is served with a generous portion of real orange slice in your glass to keep that lime twist. Plus, it's not your everyday iced tea. It tastes real to me. You may also customize your drink, mixing it with different flavors, according to your heart's desire. Just make sure to ask the pretty baristas if the mix you want is possible (no coffee plus lime juice please). We also love pairing it with the cafe's Traditional Black Forest mini cakes (P150 each). Overflowing and walled with dark, bittersweet belgian chocolate all around, one would think it's death by chocolate. But wait 'till you crack the chocolate wall apart. Rich, moist and soft chocolate cake layered with whipped cream will truly tickle your tastebuds, leaving you asking for more.

This is no Starbucks, Gloria Jeans, Bo's Coffee or Figaro. It's not crowded. Mostly class A crowds frequent the place. I see a lot of people from the hotel coming in for a cup of coffee to go or just for a quick bite to keep them full for the next 2 hours. Middle-aged foreign men (and sometimes those at their prime) would come in just to catch a glimpse of the cafe's pretty baristas, armed with their outdated pick-up lines from the 80's. Of course, this not something new to the staff. So the minute the men has stepped out of the cafe, the ladies burst out in laughter with the other staff, sharing the cheesy lines used on them . But these ladies, with their rosy-white complexions and inviting smiles, speak their native visayan dialect when no customers are at sight. They shift personalities instantly. From slang american accent to their native tongue and so on. They seem to enjoy their jobs since they really don't get exhausted, given the foot traffic at this side of the hotel isn't that much as compared to the main lobby part. The manager himself seems to be a light-hearted individual, given that the place promotes relaxation and sophistication. I have, no doubt, grown to love the place in less than a month and definitely, I will be coming over more often with my bestfriend.

The only con about this whole place is the slight humidity (which most tropical countries have) of their Al Fresco. There are several sets of comfy chairs and good tables outside. But if one tries to spend sunny afternoons here, you can expect that the sun sets right before your eyes. In fact, you can forget looking for a shaded spot to avoid the furious rays of the taming sun. The glare and the scorching heat will be all over you as it reflects by the glass windows right behind you. It's a microwave experience for real. By the way, the best time to visit the place is after sunset. That is why we have been staying inside the cafe lately, even if it means occupying the one and only set of chairs and table inside the cafe. Yes, lambs. We don't give a frog if it takes us 5 hours to sip off our iced tea as long as we are assured of excellent wifi connection, airconditioned "workplace", our one & only and very own corner right inside the posh Edsa Shangri-La Cafe.

Overall, with the staff being the most accomodating (in my entire cafe experience), I give the Edsa Shangri-La cafe a perfect 10. I won't even give them a score lesser. I would recommend it to everyone and I mean every single person in the never ending coffee shop search. Best and lasting cafe experience ever.

Rizal Day Frog

Just in time for Rizal day, I stumbled upon not-so long ago photos when Betong and I went to the "mini Rizal Park" right here in the heart of Kapitolyo a few months back. It's actually the Municipal of the province of Rizal and it's located in Pasig. Well, it still makes sense because Pasig used to be a part of Rizal until it became a city way back in who-knows-when.

I'd like to commemorate Dr. Jose Rizal with this simple remembrance of going to his monument amidst the forever-busy main roads of Shaw Boulevard. At the same time, Betong and I found our childhood in the green grass and tall bushes of the forgotten park. We sooo loved the railings. I remember, I never learned to balance-walk on those railings. I didn't want to fall flat on my face, unlike Betong who had a taste of almost all kinds of injury as a kid. He got run over by a tricycle, fell off a tree, fell of their 35-step stone staircase, and then some more. He's a walking accident. Now that i've mentioned those, I think now I know why he seems a little shaken most of the time.

In this park, everybody's free to do cartwheels, tumbling, running and eating. No rules, or not so much.

Anyway, going back to commemorating, as I was saying, I took some shots of Betong with our beloved Dr. Jose Rizal's monument. This landmark was actually one of our many favorite playgrounds. We'd play hide and seek and go round and round in circles by the statue, not knowing that we were only chasing after ourselves. The bushes around the Monument, was and it still is a very popular hiding place for the Indays and Dodongs trying to relieve themselves. Hahaha! Ok, ok. Maybe just trying kiss and hug, but what's with all the moaning and groaning?

In lazy afternoons, kids and kids at heart would bring their bikes, some bring their dogs along, some would drive in their cars just to get a breath of fresh air after a long day of carbon dioxide overdose. As for me, my favorite part is when the orange light lamp posts turns on when the sky turns pruple after the sun sets behind the buildings across the green lawn. I just love it. It makes me love this place even more. Even after all the buildings around, even after all the LTO fixers have baricaded the entrance to ask all incoming vehicles "Sir, renew?", even after all the crazy, and I mean real crazy people as in the "taong grasa" type have been scattering all over the park in the most unexpected time. After all, this used to be our playground.

After-concert

After Regine's mall show at the new Eastwood Mall, my friends and I went out to get a glimpse of the whole new mall's structure from outside. We found some spots more interesting than the mall's architectural structure itself. The bush area along the wide bermuda grass is a perfect hiding place for lovers who don't mind being watched by DELL's call center of a thousand employees inside the huge glass building facing the mall's grass area. How's that for a midnight treat for the agents, supervisors and yes, even for the expats of DELL?!

At the new mall's entrance, you can't help but notice the gigantic christmas tree sparkling with all it's lights and glittery hanging ornaments all over it. In fact, the tree is never without anyone having their pictures taken with the tree as background. It's like Araneta Center's giant christmas tree. Actually, giant christmas trees are popping up in every mall I know. It's always been a favorite background for families and friends strolling together during the Christmas holidays.

A few steps away is a huge, shallow pond with nothing in it but big boulders around it. Kids are sitting by the edge of the pond, dipping their tiny and not so tiny feet into the water to cool off the swelling from all the walking around the new found playground for kids 1-99 years old. As for me, I found a spot where I see myself more interested in. It was a boulder facing the pond. I wanted to sit on it so much and tell everyone who passes by the ever-famous phrase "Wish I could be... part of your world!!!" And guess what, that's exactly what I did. The kids were looking at me in a very suspecting manner. Trust me. They'll never see The Little Mermaid the same way again after that incident. It seemed to me that the kids were seeing The Grinch on top of a stone waiting to pound a prey that comes along. Anyway, I got off the rock before I scare them to death. I thought it's about time we eat.

On our way to Pao-Tsin, I was having a debate with myself . We went all the way here from Pasig by Jeep, walked a kilometer to the new mall, stood in line for 30 minutes to be seated, ended up standing throughout the show, got ridiculed by the mall security for trying to record Regine's performance through via our camera phones, all this just to hear Regine Belt her lungs out. What do we get from her? I can't even pay for my own Pao-Tsin Meal which costs only p41 so I still had to ask some from my friends who are starving like hell, too. That was the end of my debate with myself. Regine won't feed me if I listen to her songs or follow her to mall shows like this recent one. She doesn't even know I exist. But you know what, I love her so much that I will still follow her everywhere she goes. Even if it means I have to take long jeepney rides, even if I have to wait in endless lines, even if I skip lunch just to get to see her perform. After all, I have my 2 loyal friends to keep me company. And Regine is what keeps us together.

Last year, the main event in Eastwood City was the Santa Clause Village. This year, it's the Eastwood Mall's grand opening. Next year, it'll be Me.

Gay Stampede at the New Eastwood Mall

My friends and I went to the new Eastwood Mall to watch Regine Velasquez's mini concert at the new mall's atrium. We stood in line, hoping that we'd get good seats. Unfortunately, people from who-knows-where jammed the mall's atrium to get the good seats, too. Sadly, they could only accomodate 75 people inside the corded area so there goes our chance.

Come to think of it, not being able to get a seat inside the corded area was a blessing in disguise. Who would've thought that the view would be more magnificent from the sides of the red cords? Well, there were more people (and I mean MORE) outside the corded area. (Word for the day is ... corded area). Different kinds of people from all walks of life came pushing and shoving one another just to get a glimpse of the main event's star. We found the best spot ( I loved it eh!) and settled there until the show started. As my friend was getting his camera ready, a Grandma suddenly burtsed through the crowd to get in front (beside me) at the sides. I heard someone from the back say " Ang tanda-tanda na, pa-regine-regine pa rin". I felt for Grandma and made sure we had the best view among everyone else from our side all throughout the show. There was also a "Donya"-looking character behind me and she didn't mind the sweat and stinking breath of the other people who didn't want to leave their good spot for a gargle or something to replenish their dry throats from all the shouting and also because of the mall's very cold airconditioning system.

If there's one thing I hate about Regine's show, it's the bitchy guards who could actually replace Regine as the Diva of the show. They were such scene-stealers that they've walked past everyone else's face. Very annoying. Why don't they just stay put in one corner and not move until the whole show is over. Another thing is IT WAS A FREE SHOW. It's a mall so do you expect everyone to be of the "Alta Sociedad" class? Of course not. There were people who came all the way from Cavite, Bulacan and CAMANAVA just to get a few clips of Regine's rare renditions of some of the best lovesongs in musicdom using their digital cameras for videos or their cellphones to take videos, and what did these jaguars do? They walked all over the place to make sure everybody taking videos were annoyed of their unwanted appearances while filming the songbird perform. That's not all. When they realized that 90% of the crowd was recording the performance, they started making people stop recording "as per their manager". Who the hell do they think they are making people stop recording a public performace in a public mall? Is it ABS-CBN's request to the management? It was ABS-CBN shooting the performance and they want to hog all the rights to air the videos of the show. I'm sorry but I think the idiots behind this "No Recording" Bull should put up his sign at the right venue like concerts,TV studios and other exclusive places. But the mall? Come on. Take a hike.

Let's drink to that, Ate Chona!!
After all, the event was a success minus the jaguars.

Battered Beauty Queen

I've never come across a "Beauty Queen" stripped off in the streets until this time when we were having a little fashion show in front of betong's house one summer night.

It was supposed to be a "Santacruzan sa Ciudad". However, to my surprise, his cousin Bong (acting manager) suddenly stepped into the scene and made a scene. The rest is history which made our beauty queen do a fabulous walk-out and that was the end of the show.

Direk (I think it's really Derrek though), betong's cousin, is all over the neighborhood. You can hear his voice from afar. He's also the childish type of person who would take things you say literally coz the level of understanding runs in the family. Hahaha!!!

Anyway, sometimes I see him wearing his "basahan wig" on his way to his client's house for a massage. But if the wig has the "Bad Hair day", there's always the trusty cap he wears to cover the baldness.

Betong and Direk took the free massage classes at the Baranggay Livelihood early this year but only the latter pursued the massage service on his own. One night, at about 7:30pm, I went out for a smoke, bringing along my camera. As I walked towards betong's house, I heard a commotion. I immediately turned on my camera and put it on video mode, hoping to get a real scoop. This was what i got...

Betong's Darna Attempt #1

Everybody has the child in them, even at 24. Betong and I both took part of the Darna hype that went on during Angel Locsin's reign in GMA's telefantasya shows 2 years ago. There were even times that we wanted to become Darna, too (we were both 24 years old back then... VERY young). With that in mind, we made several videos with the theme "Darna", thinking of how to make it a little close to the special effects like they do it on TV. Oh my!! How mature.

Betong is one of my crazy neighbors. Actually, I think he's the craziest. At 26, he's never had any job experience.

He happens to be a Com-Sci graduate of the University of Manila and guess what... he can't even post his own picture in friendster or the likes. How nice. Maybe he got his diploma out of "special projects" like bringing Walis Tingting to class voluntarily or giving his professors "Emperador ". Whatever the reason is, only God knows. That's why I play a very important role in his existence.

Out of boredom, we've made several videos with him as the lead star. I just can't help but laugh at some of the videos we made every time I watch them online. I created this Blog so I could share some of the adventures of Betong. Please forgive me if I have slips or something coz this is the first time i've ever made a Blog in my entire life.
